What We Believe
The theological foundations that define our identity and mission, anchored in the tradition of the Protestant Reformation.
Our faith is not a new one; it is a reaffirmation of the biblical truths that transformed the world five hundred years ago and remain just as relevant for men and women today.
The Five
Solas
Sola Scriptura
Scripture Alone
Scripture is the only infallible and sufficient authority for faith and life.
God has spoken finally and clearly through His Word, the supreme standard by which all traditions, experiences, and teachings are to be judged. The church does not create the truth; it receives and proclaims it. Every doctrine and practice must be tested by Scripture and anchored in it.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable... (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Your word is truth. (John 17:17)
Sola Fide
Faith Alone
A sinner is declared righteous before God by faith alone, not by his own works.
Faith is not a merit but the instrument through which we receive the righteousness of Christ. Justification is a legal act in which God declares righteous the sinner who trusts in Christ. Good works are not the cause of salvation but its fruit.
For we hold that one is justified by faith... (Romans 3:28)
The righteous shall live by faith. (Romans 1:17)
Sola Gratia
Grace Alone
Salvation is entirely the work of God's grace, from beginning to end.
Being spiritually dead, man cannot contribute to his own salvation. It is God who initiates, accomplishes, and completes salvation. Grace is not merely an offer but an effectual power that brings spiritual life, giving all the glory to God.
For by grace you have been saved through faith... (Ephesians 2:8-9)
He saved us, not because of works done by us... (Titus 3:5)
Solus Christus
Christ Alone
Jesus Christ is the only Mediator between God and men.
Through His perfect life, His substitutionary death, and His resurrection, He has fully accomplished the salvation of those who believe. There is no other way and no other authority by which man can be reconciled to God. Adding any further mediators undermines the sufficiency of Christ's work.
I am the way, and the truth, and the life... (John 14:6)
There is one mediator... (1 Timothy 2:5)
Soli Deo Gloria
To the Glory of God Alone
The whole life of the believer is lived for the glory of God.
Salvation, life, ministry, and all things exist for His glory. God is the center and ultimate end of all things. This principle calls us to a life directed not toward self but toward God, in every area of life.
Do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. (Romans 11:36)
Our
Confession
Doctrinal Statement
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and sufficient Word of God, the supreme authority in every matter of faith and life. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that man is fallen in sin and unable to save himself by his own power.
We believe that salvation is by grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ alone, on the basis of His finished work. We believe in the new birth, in the progressive sanctification of the believer, and in the essential role of the local church as the body of Christ. We await the return of Christ and the final restoration of all things.
